Antique = Any item that is over 100 years of age.
One-of-a-kind = Most older hand-knotted rugs are knotted from memory or from a drawing called a ‘cartoon’. So there are always variations and certain liberties that the weaver has taken when making a piece. In that respect, the pieces generated are one-of-a-kind. More recent hand knotted rug are computer guided with pre-printed foundations as a blueprint so even-though they are hand-knotted, pieces are so similar that we do not consider them to be one-of-a-kind.
